About Me
I’m Jeanette James-Monk and I live in Cornwall. I’ve been painting contemporary and abstract art for nearly 20 years. My frequent trips to Cornwall created a passion for painting seascapes, so I moved here in June 2019. I’m also inspired by my previous home in Derbyshire where rocky ridges form sweeping landscapes into the moors. When I paint in both contemporary and abstract styles, both of these mediums allow me to truly challenge myself and create unique pieces that anyone can enjoy. My preferred media is acrylics and mixed media. I soak up the vibrant colours and interesting shapes along the Cornish coast. I visualise the places I have seen, then convert those memories into images that capture the essence.
I’m married to Geoff and we have a labradoodle called Coco who loved walking in Derbyshire and now enjoys playing on the beaches of Cornwall even more.
